Begin where you are.
"Jesus said love one another.
He didn't say love the whole world."
--Mother Teresa
It is one thing to talk about love; it is another thing to actually love. We wonder why the church is dying and most of our neighbors are saying "thanks, but no thanks" to the church. Sometimes I think we spend so much time talking about how to save our brand of church so that we can theoretically save the world that we spend very little time being the Church.
I don't think Jesus gives a rats ass how much we talk about him. I think he cares about how we are behaving like him. I can hear Jesus now, "Don't tell me how much you love me... show me."
He didn't say wait until you feel like loving some one; he said love one another. He did not say love only those who think like you, he said love one another. He did not say try to change people to your way of thinking, he said love one another. When in doubt, love one another.
We spend very little time loving one another.
When is the last time we attended a conference on how to love one another?
Church Growth 101: Love somebody.

Very beautiful words. Someone said, "the love we give is the only love we keep." Sadly, people are afraid to love.
