Images.

I just did a Google image search of Jesus;
I received 50,600,000 images in less than one second.
Wow.
That’s a lot of images.

I imaged-searched Church and
received over 41,000,000 images-- mostly buildings.

Hmmm...
No people.

I searched Christians.
2,770,000 images—
--mostly people with signs in their hands claiming one thing or another.
(It seems that many were for what they were against.)
Interesting.
There were some fairly bizarre images of Christians.

I searched good Christian.
It is a term I’ve heard over the years.
1, 660,000 images.
Perhaps there is such a thing as “bad” Christian.
I wonder if folks thought Jesus was a “bad” rabbi?
I wonder why?
There was image of Jerry Falwell on page 4.

I searched Christian Symbols.
299,000 images.
There’s a bunch of symbols:

The little fishy-thing that sticks to the car beside the dealer’s name where the car was purchased.

Bumper-stickers.
Crosses. (There was even an American Flag cross)
On page 3, I discovered the meaning of a symbol that was given to me as a gift two years ago.
(I guess I can hang it on my wall now that I know what it means--in case someone asks).
A Bible Bingo game popped up on page 4.
Some dude on page 5 had a huge cross tattooed on his neck.
A guy on page 6 apparently makes boomerangs with Christian symbols.
(it comes in Red, White, and Blue also. See page 8)

I searched Disciples of Jesus.
Fewer images—179,000.
(mostly water-color renderings)
I saw one that said, true disciple.

In my one-minute search for images I came across millions of images of Jesus, Church, Christian, Disciple etc. with the exception of the one image that Jesus seems to have been concerned:

LOVE.

"I am giving you a new commandment: That you continue to love one another in the way I have loved you, that you also love one another. This is how everyone shall know that you are my disciples, if you have that love toward one another. This is my command: that you keep on loving each other just as I have loved you." John 13:34-35

I wonder if that is why there were over 50 million images of Jesus and only 179,000 images of disciples?

I'm going to go stand in front of my mirror for a while; I wonder what images I'll see.

I wonder when people "do a search" what image in me do they see?

I wonder if they expereince love?

Don't know what's going on where you are, but am hoping this entry means you have returned to some sense of regularity. As far as the googles, my own 36-year experience has taught me along the way that it remains a journey through the wilderness. He is an inner oasis as we stumble through it...n

That was awesome!

I hate google by the way. It never remembers my name and password. I end up doing more typing to login than I do to comment!
