For the next several days we are reminded that humanity has so much value and worth that God comes to us in the form of a poor, vulnerable, and near-homless girl. God comes to us in our most vulnerable areas of life, not to tell us how worthless we are, but to tell us how much we are loved.
Love came to us as a child. May the child lead us.

I'm so glad you posted the link to the entry on shame, brother. I needed to hear it a long time ago - and not sure how I missed it the first time around.
It's an issue that I still wrestle with - some parts of my past that I would just as soon not only shut the door on, but would nail it closed, as well. I keep asking for redemption and restoration in these areas...and for now, I gotta just trust that the discomfort that those events created will be eased in time.
I'm so grateful to be able to read your stuff - even though it really cuts to the heart more than I'd choose to be cut. Merry Christmas, Rick...your friendship is a gift that I get to open every day of the year.
