Thanks God-- but no thanks.
So Mary says “yes” to God and the world changes.
It takes massive guts to say yes to God regardless the messenger. It may be an angel; it may Brad Pitt; it may be an angel that looks like Brad Pitt; it may be Angela Jolie, or it could be Moses, but the reality when God calls out to you are you willing to say, “Here I am”?
I think God calls out fairly often. I think God wants to do something new; God wants to incarnate God-self into our lives and our worlds every day, sadly most of us will settle for the status quo. We’d rather be poor peasants and trapped in oppression of the known than to take a risk on freedom by walking into the unknown.
Unlike Mary, we care too much about what others will think and the potential consequences than stepping toward God and allowing God to impregnate us with hope for something more… for something better.
How many say, “Thanks, but no thanks God.” Especially if it is going to require my facing fear, anxiety and any form of pain. We have found favor with God and yet we are still afraid in spite of the messenger’s plea, “Do not be afraid.”
Why won’t we just say yes to God and allow God to be God? Because, it requires our surrender and giving up control, and for some reason that seems like a little too much to ask. And so we daydream while stuck in our oppressed worlds rather than living in the hope of God to come.

And yet we have so very little control over the stuff of life, anyway. Surrendering to God is really nothing more than aknowldedging a truth that already exists; it is stepping out of our denial into His truth.
And in the end, I think it comes down to you've got to 'wanna-have' Him more than you want to 'gotta-have' the stuff of life. :)
Coldn't sleep so I got up to check blogs. Yours was the first one I saw that has a new post.
And here I find words to live by, so I think I will.
I tend to think that we have no ability to "surrender". But, when we come to know who God is, and how incredible His love is... surrender is the result of being drawn to His goodness. Why would we resist?
We will only submit to the One we trust. If surrender comes as a result of fear, it is unwilling surrender... and the sincerity of the decision will always be in doubt.
Angelina has spoke to me in my dreams...but what she said did not have anything to do with God.
in my mind, it is all about choice. he chooses, the ones He has chosen to do mighty works have done them. not sure of a person chosen by God and did not do as He was created to do.
those who He did not trust, sit and watch history play out.
God has been doing His plan from day one. there is opportunity to work. plenty do do.
if we ever actually thought we were in control of anything...we are so naive. we have no more control over the events of our day as we do with the weather.
there is nothing that comes our way...except our ability to deal with the issue, that we are in control of.
I am absolutely up for anything anywhere.
so while I wait for a mission, I talk to people daily, teach each week, and renew my mind.
I belive my mission on earth is to help children and families.
If I didn't think I was called to do this, I've wasted 21 years of my life. :)
But I have received blessings untold because of it. I am hoping that it continues to bless instead of becoming a burden.
Course, I may have to do it elsewhere.... :)
God has complete control over our lifes and he knows whats gonna happen before it happens. So with all the bad im still thankful for the bad stuff that comes out of that because it finds to always bring something good out of the situation or it teaches me a lesson out of bad. Everyday is the day the lord has made so its on us to rejoice and be glad in it
Did Mary have a choice?
no. Mary did not have a choice
and neither do you.
Hey guys,
Thanks for your feedback.
Just to clarify my post, Mary said, "let it be with me." I am assuming that she was saying "yes."
I am assuming she could have said , "no". Maybe next week I'll write one where she didn't have a choice. In the context of this post she did andd when we say yes to God it often requires something of us.
Thanks again for you feedback.
Love,
Rick
That's my point, Jeff. Christ is with me, but it's not by anything I have done, or agree to. He is with me because God made it so. It doesn't matter whether or not I believe it... it only matters that I know it.
I say... "good--let Him be with me."
Hi guys,
I think we are off the point of my original post, however, I do agree with your point about God reaching out to humanity and our awkaening to it.
Mary had a calling on her life by God and she said Yes. So did Jesus... so do I... so do you... so does all of humanity. Many folks would rather stay in their opression than saying yes to God and experiencing freedom.
